On the morning of June 21, 2022, gunfire in the 200 block of South Oak Street in Dumas, Arkansas left 24-year-old Quantavius Jackson dead. Officers arrived at about 10:28 a.m. and found Jackson unresponsive; they began CPR and he was rushed to Delta Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

He is survived by his fiancée, a son and a daughter; his father had died before him. The Dumas Police Department opened an investigation and asked the public for information, but no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests were announced.
