Marquarius Samonte Mann Williams, 21, was shot and killed on October 17, 2021, during a mass-shooting incident in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The shooting occurred outside the Sahara Temple where a homecoming party for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff was taking place. Williams was reportedly standing in line to enter the event when gunfire erupted; he was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:32 a.m. His body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.

Family described Williams as the life of the party and a comedian who brought laughter to those around him. His sister, Marshay Williams, said she had spoken to him moments before the shooting and that he told her he had been shot in the heart and thought he was dying. The shooting left thirteen people wounded and two dead that night.

Community members expressed frustration about limited information from law enforcement. Interim Police Chief Lloyd Franklin said the department was committed to improving community relations and addressing staffing challenges. As of December 2021, no arrests had been announced and no suspects identified; the investigation remained ongoing. If anyone has information about what happened that night, please share what you know.
