Omarion Bones, 18, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at the intersection of East Lincoln and North Oak streets in Stuttgart, Arkansas, on August 1, 2021. A graduate of Stuttgart High School and a former Ricebirds football player, he had played for the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers and hoped to walk on at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff that fall.

Two juveniles were arrested in connection with the shooting. Mahogany Hawkins of Hazen and Jabarree Smith of Stuttgart were charged as adults with capital murder. Hawkins underwent a court-ordered mental health evaluation to determine fitness to stand trial. On July 30, 2024, Hawkins pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree murder and received a 30-year sentence with 10 years suspended, contingent on truthful testimony about all individuals involved.

Smith’s capital murder charge was dropped in March 2023 and later refiled in August 2024; his trial concluded with a jury verdict in July 2025. If anyone knew Omarion, his routines, or saw activity near East Lincoln and North Oak around August 1, 2021, please share information that might help.
