On a Wednesday night in May 2020, 56-year-old Jimmy Lee Tanner was shot multiple times near his red 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Bristol Road in the Harvard Yard neighborhood of Marion, Arkansas. Witnesses say Tanner got out of his vehicle to speak with two men on foot; the conversation escalated and one of the men produced a firearm. Neighbors got Tanner into a private vehicle and he was taken to Baptist Hospital, where he died later that night and the death was classified as a homicide.
Investigators originally described the shooters only as two unidentified men who ran toward Dunhill after the shooting. Detectives later focused on a man from West Memphis as a primary suspect and a murder warrant was issued for that individual. Crittenden County Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $2,000 for tips.
Did anyone in the area know Tanner or see activity on Bristol Road that night that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
