A late-night call in the spring of 2018 brought Pine Bluff officers to the 5700 block of Carbon Street, where 29-year-old Ingram Brooks was found lying in the street on May 15, 2018. Brooks had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities immediately treated the death as a homicide.

Detectives processed the scene and interviewed potential witnesses, but details about what led to the shooting remained scarce and police had not established a motive in the days after the killing. No suspects were immediately identified, and the department publicly asked the community for help, providing a tip line and social media avenues for information. If anyone has information about what happened to Ingram Brooks, contact the Pine Bluff Police Department’s detective division.
