Harold Miller Jr., 54, of Monticello, Arkansas, was found shot dead at McCray’s garage on West Shelton Street on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Monticello officers discovered Miller at about 12:25 PM; Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division agents took over the inquiry and his body was sent to the state crime lab for autopsy.

Investigators reported the shooting followed a dispute over a $20 drug purchase. Both men reportedly produced weapons during the altercation, and Miller was shot in the chest with a .22 caliber revolver. Authorities arrested 55-year-old Arnold LaRon White Sr. of Monticello and initially charged him with manslaughter; the charge was later reduced and the case went to a jury.

White was convicted of negligent homicide and received a one-year county jail sentence. Does anyone have information about Miller’s life in Monticello or about McCray’s garage that could shed light on the case?
