On the evening of July 2, 2016, Pope County deputies responded to a 7:27 p.m. 911 call about an altercation and a shooting at a residence on State Highway 247 in Atkins, Arkansas. Officers found 43-year-old Larry Don DuVall suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at his home.
Also at the scene was 38-year-old Toni DuVall, who sustained injuries serious enough to require transport to St. Mary’s Hospital and subsequent airlift to a Little Rock facility. The nature of her injuries and her relationship to Larry DuVall were not publicly disclosed. Investigators turned the case file over to Prosecuting Attorney David Gibbons to decide whether charges would be filed; no public notice of arrests or charges has been provided.
Larry DuVall, born November 21, 1972, in Dardanelle, worked as a truck driver and was a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. A graveside service was held July 9, 2016; he is survived by two children, a sister, and two nieces.
Does anyone who knew Larry or was in the Atkins area that evening have information that could help the investigation?
