James Robert Jimmy Druhan III, 54, was found dead on October 22, 2014, near his deer stand in the Sulphur River Wildlife Management Area in southwest Arkansas after failing to return from a hunting trip. Family and friends had organized a search that located him in the early morning; the Miller County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
Investigators determined Druhan sustained a fatal gunshot wound caused by the accidental discharge of his own muzzleloader rifle. Authorities concluded there was no foul play and ruled the death accidental; no arrests were made. Druhan worked for International Paper and served as Vice President of Local 1149 of the United Steel Workers Union.
If anyone was in the Sulphur River Wildlife Management Area around October 21, 2014, or has information about that hunt, please share what is known.
