Gregory D. Tucker, 25, was shot and killed on October 17, 2016, in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. He was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle after sustaining gunshot wounds and later died after being transferred to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Tucker had been a student and basketball player at North Dakota State College of Science and Chicago State University and was described as devoted to his young daughter and having a promising future.
A warrant was issued for 33-year-old Asheem Monte Afutu in connection with the shooting. The killing occurred during 2016, a year of sharply increased homicides in Chicago that drew attention to gun violence and public safety in neighborhoods such as Uptown.
If anyone knew Gregory, his routines, or has information about the shooting, please share what can help the case.
