A family gathering in Dover, Arkansas on December 26, 1987, turned into a massacre when 23-year-old William Billy Simmons II, his wife Renata, and their 20-month-old son William Trae Simmons III were shot and killed after arriving at the home of William’s father, Ronald Gene Simmons. The killings were part of a wider series of murders that unfolded over several days and targeted members of the same family.
The violence did not stop at the family residence. On December 28, Ronald Simmons drove into nearby Russellville and shot additional people, leaving more dead and several wounded before surrendering to police. The case involves multiple victims and spans both the family home and the nearby town.
If anyone knew William, his family, or was in Dover or Russellville during the last week of December 1987, any details about their movements or contacts could still be important.
