On the evening of December 16, 2021, 23-year-old Clinton Tito Taylor was shot multiple times inside Sammy’s Grocery & Dollar Store on Park Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The shooting occurred at about 9:15 p.m.; officers who responded to the scene found Taylor deceased. His death was the city’s 21st homicide of 2021.
Bridgeport police apprehended a suspect minutes later a block from the store after a brief foot chase in which the suspect broke his leg. Investigators recovered a handgun near the arrest location that they believe was the weapon used. Security footage from the grocery store reportedly captured the entire incident and shows the suspect shooting Taylor and taking money. After hospital treatment for his injury, 31-year-old Luis Morales was charged with murder, felony murder, and first-degree robbery.
Taylor was the grandson of former Bridgeport city councilwoman Denese Taylor-Moye; his funeral was held December 28, 2021, at the Cathedral of Praise in Bridgeport. Does anyone have information about that night or seen the store footage that might help clarify what happened?
