William Will Vasquez was a 14-year-old Black male from Hamden, Connecticut, who died after being shot on October 25, 2021. He was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and later transferred to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, where he died of his injuries.

The Waterbury Police Department began the initial investigation, but the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crimes Unit later took over because the shooting likely occurred outside Waterbury’s jurisdiction. Authorities have not publicly identified the exact location of the shooting. Family members, including his mother and grandmother, and state officials spoke publicly in the days after his death; William was a student at New Haven’s High School in the Community.

As of late 2025 no arrests or suspects have been announced and the investigation remains open. If anyone knew William or has information that could help, please come forward.
