On a Sunday evening in March 2019, 21-year-old Tyron Davon Heard of Stratford was sitting in a parked car on Hollister Avenue in Bridgeport when about 20 shots were fired into the vehicle. Heard, a Black / African American man known to some as Scrap, was taken with two companions to Bridgeport Hospital in the same car; he arrived in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after. The two companions, ages 17 and 22, survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives seized the bullet-riddled car and investigated what was described as a possible gang-related attack. Police released images of a person of interest by the end of March and both investigators and Heard’s family renewed public pleas in December 2019, but the surviving victims were not cooperating and no arrests have been announced. The case remains unsolved.
Did anyone in the Bridgeport area see activity on Hollister Avenue that night or have information that could help identify those responsible?
