On December 18, 2018, 12-year-old Clinton Howell was killed in a drive-by shooting outside his home on Willow Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He had just returned from a corner store when gunfire struck him; he was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and later died, becoming the city’s 11th homicide of the year. Police described Clinton as an innocent bystander, not the intended target.

Investigators say the shooting followed a dispute tied to a social media feud involving Clinton’s older cousin, who was with him. A stolen SUV carrying four people reportedly circled the house several times. After the cousin fired a pellet gun at the vehicle, the SUV turned around and shots were fired from the back window, striking Clinton.

Several arrests were announced in the days after the shooting, including 18-year-old Tajay Chambers, 16-year-old Alexander Bolanos, a 14-year-old, and a 12-year-old; authorities identified Chambers as the shooter and Bolanos as the driver. Clinton’s family and teachers remembered him as a happy child who loved video games and riding his bike. Did anyone in Bridgeport see activity on Willow Street that night or know more about the people involved?
