Dominic Marino, 30, was found dead at his Suffolk Drive home in East Hartford, Connecticut on November 18, 2018. His brother discovered him in the afternoon; an autopsy confirmed a gunshot wound to the torso and the death was ruled a homicide. Investigators reported signs of a violent struggle, forced entry, and that Marino’s wrists and ankles were bound with tape. Police described the attack as targeted and said they believed there was no broader threat to the community.
Marino was a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran who served overseas in Guam, South Korea, and Kuwait and had service-related disabilities in his right knee and left shoulder. He volunteered at the VA hospital in Newington and was remembered by friends and family as committed to God, country, and family. The investigation has been protracted and remains unsolved; no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested. Detectives later questioned the cooperation of the brother who found the body, and there are suggestions Dominic may not have been the intended target. Subsequent disturbances at the home — theft of televisions and tampering with mattresses — led investigators to consider the possibility perpetrators returned to the scene. Connecticut is offering up to $50,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Does anyone have information about Dominic, his time in East Hartford, or the days leading up to November 18, 2018?
