On the evening of December 30, 2014, 24-year-old Hispanic man Jesus Chuito M. Silva was found unresponsive inside a car near Yeaton Street and Farmington Avenue in New Britain, Connecticut. He was pronounced dead at the scene; the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide from a gunshot wound.
Investigators say the killing was part of a murder-for-hire tied to a drug-trafficking operation. Authorities allege a supplier in Puerto Rico, Hector Cardona-Diaz, shipped cocaine concealed in ceramic moldings and received cash proceeds by mail. After two packages containing about $40,000 in drug money were seized in November 2014, Cardona-Diaz reportedly believed Silva had taken a large sum and arranged a hit. A man identified as Jesus Sierra lured Silva to New Britain under the pretense of buying a car; Sierra’s companion Joel Jaquez supplied the firearm and followed in a separate vehicle, and Sierra shot Silva.
Does anyone have information about Silva’s movements in Meriden or New Britain that night?
