Curtis Stephens was 35 when he was shot dead on the porch of his Bridgeport home at 179 Monroe Street on the night of September 20, 2014. The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m.; a gunman approached and fatally shot Stephens in the head in front of three young children, one of whom was his son. Neighbors heard the shots and found the scene; police pronounced Stephens dead on the porch and described the investigation as very active.

Police noted Stephens may have been using an alias because of an outstanding arrest warrant for a prior drug offense.
