Satnam Singh, 65, was killed on the night of February 28, 2021, while working at Super Grocery on Monroe Boulevard in Ogden, Utah. Singh, an immigrant from India who had run the store for 21 years, was described as a generous, community-minded proprietor who often helped customers in need.
Surveillance footage shows a male entering the store just before midnight; after a brief conversation he shot and killed Singh. The suspect in the footage wore a blue surgical mask, black gloves, and a gray Oakland Raiders hoodie. Tips and video submissions from the public led investigators to a juvenile male who was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery; his name was initially withheld because of his age.
Later court filings say the juvenile admitted planning the robbery and implicated himself. The case proceeded through the adult court system and concluded with a plea agreement that reduced the charges. Singh’s family consented to the resolution. Does anyone have memories of Satnam or information about that night that could add to the record?
