On the evening of August 26, 2017, 21-year-old Jordon Burtell Moulton was found dead at a residence on West Columbia Drive in Midvale, Utah, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Police investigated his death as a homicide. Reports identify Moulton as a White male and describe a backdrop of gang rivalry between him and another man, Kaden Michael Gilliatt, then 20, with investigators noting a personal dispute involving a woman that reportedly escalated tensions.
The woman told police Gilliatt had reacted with extreme anger after seeing her message Moulton and had threatened to kill them both; she later said Gilliatt disappeared after the shooting. While jailed on other charges, Gilliatt made a call asking a woman to provide a false alibi for the night of the murder, and a cellmate later said Gilliatt confessed to shooting someone in the head and admitted to providing a fake alibi. In May 2018, Gilliatt was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and obstructing justice in connection with Moulton’s death.
Does anyone have information about Moulton’s last movements on August 26, 2017, or about contacts between Moulton and Gilliatt that summer?
