Taylor James Vancamp, 24, was killed in the early morning hours of December 19, 2016, at a Layton, Utah, house where he and several others rented rooms. An argument with a 19-year-old roommate, Christopher S. Fritz, escalated into a hallway fistfight that moved into another roommate’s room; Fritz suffered a black eye. After they separated, Fritz reportedly looked in a mirror, retrieved a handgun from his room, returned to Vancamp’s bedroom and shot him multiple times. Police who answered a 911 call from Fritz’s father saying there were rapid succession gunshots found Vancamp deceased in his bedroom. Before the shooting Vancamp reportedly yelled it wasn’t him, bro, and Fritz later admitted to his father, I killed Taylor. Fritz was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
Vancamp worked as a pizza delivery driver for Domino’s and was remembered by friends and family for his ability to see the good in everyone he met. Does anyone have information about Taylor, the household where he lived, or what led up to that night?
