Justin Bruce Hanna, 34, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside a mobile home at 515 North 400 West in the Reber Court trailer park in Cedar City, Utah, after police responded to reports of gunfire at about 6:38 a.m. on July 24, 2016.
Investigators identified 27-year-old Mark Mair as the primary suspect and said he was believed to be heavily armed. A 19-year-old woman, Elcha Hatch, was accused of driving the getaway vehicle. Authorities located Mair and Hatch in Grand Junction, Colorado, on the evening of July 26, 2016; Mair was taken into custody on aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and multiple counts related to firearm discharge, and Hatch was arrested on a warrant for obstruction of justice. Two others, Michelle Partridge and Robert Schexnayder, were later detained near Green River, Utah, on obstruction charges for allegedly helping the pair flee.
The motive for Hanna’s killing remained under investigation.
