In the pre-dawn hours of August 17, 2015, 26-year-old Stevan Ryan Chambers was found dead in a street in Magna, Utah. A longtime resident and Kearns High School graduate, Chambers had been killed by a single gunshot wound, and his death launched a homicide investigation that shocked the small community.
Two days later, 26-year-old Shelli Marie Brown was found shot to death a few blocks away at Magna Copper Park. Investigators determined Chambers and Brown were acquaintances who moved in the same social circles and treated the killings as connected, turning the inquiry toward a possible common suspect and motive. Early leads included a claim that Chambers had been held against his will shortly before his death; police later determined that claim was false, and the probe continued.
If anyone in Magna at that time has information about Chambers, Brown, or people they knew, please share what you remember with investigators.
