Collin Brown was 21 when he was shot during a home invasion in the Key West mobile home park south of Dubuque, Iowa, in the early morning hours of April 2, 2016. After being wounded, he managed to make it to a neighbor’s house where he collapsed; he was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Investigators quickly identified several suspects in what they described as a robbery-turned-homicide. In May 2016 the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department announced arrests: 18-year-old Imere Hall and 21-year-old Taylor Shaw were charged with first-degree murder and robbery, and a warrant was issued for 19-year-old Tacari Minifee on the same counts. Court filings later identified Minifee as the person who shot Collin. A fourth person, Eric Campbell Jr., was also implicated in the incident.
Anyone who knew Collin, who was living in the Key West community, or who has information about the April 2, 2016 home invasion is asked to come forward.
