On the evening of Memorial Day, May 30, 2022, 23-year-old Hispanic man Luis Yadiel Lebron Alvelo of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was shot and killed near the 1200 block of Grattan Street. Chicopee Police arrived at about 5:04 p.m. and found Lebron Alvelo suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chicopee Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office investigated. Their work led to probable cause identifying two suspects from Springfield. On June 8, 2022, 31-year-old Thania Rosado was arrested and charged with murder. On June 10, 2022, 38-year-old Jose Amaro was taken into custody; a search of a Loring Street residence recovered two handguns, ammunition with high-capacity feeding devices, and packaging materials for narcotics. Both were booked in Chicopee and held in custody pending court proceedings.

Does anyone in the Chicopee or Springfield area have information about Lebron Alvelo or the events around Grattan Street that evening?
