Gregorios Gregory Grantsis, 36, was killed in the early morning hours of November 9, 2021. Police were called at about 1:36 a.m. to shots fired near 69 Tremont Street in Brockton. Officers found a 2007 Mazda 3 stopped in the road; Grantsis was outside the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the face and was taken to Brockton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m. Two other people were at the scene: one male victim had been shot in the leg and torso, and a third person in the car was uninjured.
Known to family and friends as Greg or Flea, Grantsis was a Brockton native, a mechanic at his family’s business Bill’s Auto Repair, and a father to daughter Kaylee and infant son Gregorios Jr. Authorities identified and arrested four people in connection with the shooting: brothers Shamallah Jones, 26, and Rula Jones, 27, were charged with murder (Shamallah also facing attempted murder and firearms counts); their mother, Vanessa Jones, 55, was charged with witness intimidation; and Ashley Severino, 26, was charged as an accessory after the fact and with witness intimidation. The case was moving through arraignment in Brockton Superior Court while family and the community mourned.
