Marco Rodrigues, 31, of Fall River was shot in the early hours of March 16, 2019, in Brockton, Massachusetts. ShotSpotter alerted police to gunfire near Grand and Main streets around 1:43 a.m., and several 911 calls followed. Officers initially gathered evidence but did not find a victim; at about 5 a.m. callers reported a shooting victim behind a building at 1040 Main Street. Rodrigues, known locally as DJ Marco Polo, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and pronounced dead.

Brockton Police and State Police detectives with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office reviewed surveillance video, text messages and witness interviews and identified three people connected to the shooting. In June 2019 a Plymouth County grand jury indicted Claudio DeBrito and Anderson DePina on second-degree murder and related charges, and Leann Cushman on a charge of being an accessory after the fact. Friends and family remembered Rodrigues as a beloved son and father.
