Anthony Baker, 21, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Brockton, Massachusetts on June 8, 2018. He had come home to attend a rehearsal dinner for his sister’s upcoming wedding. Earlier that day a conflict between Baker and a former classmate, Andrew Tymek, escalated when Tymek allegedly threw a brick through a car window, injuring a 7-month-old baby inside. Around 6:15 p.m. on Arthur Street a dark-colored SUV approached Baker as he walked; Baker allegedly threw a rock at the vehicle and four shots were fired from the SUV. Baker was struck twice in the upper body, found unresponsive in the street, and pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Police arrested 21-year-old Andrew Tymek the next day, charging him as the driver, and a few days later arrested 22-year-old Christopher Nogueira, accused of being the shooter. Both men were indicted by a Plymouth County Grand Jury on murder and firearms charges. Christopher Nogueira was later found not guilty at trial; Andrew Tymek pleaded guilty to manslaughter and related charges and received a 15 to 18 year state prison sentence.
If anyone knew Anthony, saw activity on Arthur Street that evening, or has information about the events leading up to the shooting, please come forward.
