On the evening of August 17, 2017, in Brockton, Massachusetts, 26-year-old Henry Vargas was fatally shot while riding as a passenger in a Jeep after leaving a party. Vargas, a former Brockton High School basketball standout and father of two daughters, had welcomed his second child just thirteen days earlier. The vehicle was struck by gunfire around 10:40 p.m.; Vargas was found on the ground and died of his injuries. A front-seat passenger was seriously wounded but survived, while the third occupant was uninjured.

Vargas’s mother, Zulma Figueroa, has spoken about the family’s ongoing grief and fears because the shooter has not been identified. No arrests or publicly named suspects have been announced and the case remains unsolved. Does anyone who knew Henry or was in the area that night have information that could help bring answers to his family?
