On the evening of Thursday, December 22, 2016, officers in Holyoke, Massachusetts, responded to reports of a shooting at 100 Pine Street and found 55-year-old Anthony Sirakowski unresponsive inside his camper, which he used as his home. He was transported to Baystate Medical Center after officers began first aid, but was pronounced dead on arrival having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Holyoke Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office investigated. Authorities said the shooting was not random and that Sirakowski may have been targeted. Investigators identified a person of interest and then a second suspect; both men from Holyoke were arrested and charged with murder. They were arraigned the day after the shooting, and a Hampden County Grand Jury returned indictments in February 2017.
Does anyone have information about Sirakowski’s last known movements or who might have had a motive to target him?
