On the evening of September 4, 1989, Rolando Barros was standing at the intersection of Wyman Street and Walnut Street in Brockton, Massachusetts with Jose DeAndrade and Maurice Ware when multiple gunshots rang out. Barros was fatally wounded and DeAndrade suffered a serious stomach wound; Ware was uninjured.

Investigators were told Ware had been robbed of gold chains by a man named Steven A. James two or three days earlier and that James and another man, Anibal Rodrigues-Lopes, had been seen driving by the area about half an hour before the shooting. Testimony at trial included Rodrigues-Lopes, who testified under a grant of immunity, and Samuel Jordan, who said David L. Clarke admitted shooting and was uncertain whether his bullet or that of an accomplice, Greene, caused Barros’s death. Clarke and Steven A. James were convicted of first degree murder for Barros’s death and related armed assault charges; both received mandatory life sentences without parole.

Does anyone have information about Barros, his movements that evening, or the people seen near Wyman and Walnut on September 4, 1989?
