Two brothers were shot to death during a dispute over stolen property in Los Lunas, New Mexico. On the morning of February 19, 2021, 32-year-old Rudy Romero and his older brother, 38-year-old Henry Romero Jr., were found shot to death at a Meadow Lake Road residence. The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation that investigators say began with a disagreement about stolen items.

Investigators identified several suspects and made multiple arrests within a week. On February 25, 2021, 37-year-old Felicia Anaya was arrested after a brief foot chase at the scene. That same day, 29-year-old David Maestes and 26-year-old Samuel Maestes turned themselves in, and 25-year-old Jacob Arnold was arrested at his home. All four were booked into the Valencia County Detention Center on charges related to the brothers’ deaths.

Anyone who knew Rudy or Henry, or who has information about the dispute that led to the shootings, is asked to come forward.
