A deadly shootout at a gas station along Route 314 in Los Chavez, New Mexico, left two men dead on September 13, 2015. Sean Duffey, 38, of Albuquerque, a member of the Bandidos motorcycle club, and Danny Macias, 40, of Belen, affiliated with the Poor Boys motorcycle club, were both killed by gunshot wounds. Three other people were wounded by gunfire and treated at a local hospital.

Authorities say the confrontation appears to have been tied to a turf dispute between the clubs; investigators noted several earlier violent incidents that year involving the Bandidos, including a March shooting at an Albuquerque Applebee’s and a May clash in Waco, Texas that produced multiple deaths. The New Mexico State Police opened an investigation into the Los Chavez shooting but have not publicly disclosed arrests or suspect identities. Witness reluctance has hampered the inquiry.
