Edward Boyle Jr., 46, was shot during an early morning confrontation at the Village Green Apartments on 26th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado. The shooting occurred in the early hours of July 28, 2018; Boyle was taken to a nearby hospital and later died of his wound.

Witnesses reported a heated argument between two men near the apartment entrance just before a single gunshot. Initial descriptions identified the shooter as a teenager accompanied by four or five other young males.
