On April 15, 2017, Wallace Lance White, 54, was found dead with his wife, 56-year-old Kelly Sloat-White, and his 39-year-old brother, Emory Lee Fraker, in their home on Divide View Drive in Coal Creek Canyon. Deputies responding to a welfare check discovered all three victims showed signs of trauma, and investigators ruled out a murder-suicide, concluding the residence had been specifically targeted.
Investigators reported drug paraphernalia in the home and called a hazardous materials team. Neighbors said the Whites grew medical marijuana; Wallace had recently sold his garage door company. About a month after the killings, on May 16, 2017, 24-year-old Garrett Coughlin was arrested and charged in connection with the triple homicide after ballistics evidence linked him to the scene. He was charged with multiple counts including first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.
What information might still help clarify motive or link the crime to persons connected to the property and its recent activities?
