Ada M Velasquez Ybarra, 33, was found dead inside a home on the 600 block of South 8th Street in Rocky Ford, Colorado, on July 24, 2015. The Rocky Ford Police Department, with help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Otero County Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, opened an investigation at the scene.

Investigators focused on Edward Lawrence Aragon, who had been living with Ybarra at the residence. Aragon was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Legal proceedings in the case continued for several years. The 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office praised Ybarra’s family for their strength and acknowledged the work of the agencies involved.
