Joseph Armarante Nelson, a 23-year-old white man, was shot and killed on the front porch of his Westminster home on 76th Avenue on the night of November 10, 2005. Family and friends were on the porch when a dark-colored, two-door Ford Explorer pulled up and an altercation occurred. Nelson left the porch, approached the vehicle, and witnesses heard two gunshots. The SUV then fled west on 76th Avenue and Nelson collapsed; he died from the shooting.
Several people were present that night, but none provided a clear identification of the shooter or the Explorer’s occupants. Westminster Police interviewed witnesses and canvassed the area but developed no significant leads. No arrests have been made and the case has grown cold, leaving Nelson’s family without answers.
If anyone knew Joseph, saw a dark green two-door Ford Explorer near 76th Avenue on November 10, 2005, or has information about that night, please come forward.
