On a busy Sunday just before noon on March 31, 2019, 19-year-old Tashon Logan, a Black/African American male, was shot and killed while seated in the driver’s seat of a car at the Carey Mart gas station at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue in North Las Vegas. His 22-year-old girlfriend had stepped out of the vehicle to speak with another male; a dispute followed and, after the conversation seemed to end, the other male produced a firearm and fired multiple shots into the car. Logan died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds; his death was ruled a homicide.
The shooter fled through the gas station parking lot amid a crowded area with many witnesses and an event happening across the street. Detectives concluded the attack was not random and, based on witness accounts and surveillance, identified a person of interest. A juvenile male was arrested in connection with the killing on April 4, 2019; his name was not released because of his age.
Was anyone at or near the Carey Mart that day willing to share what they saw or recorded?
