Trevor Alan Nettleton, a 30-year-old North Las Vegas resident and officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, was shot and killed at his home on November 19, 2009. Police say he was confronted by multiple suspects in his garage and that one of the suspects was armed with a handgun; authorities described the encounter as a random robbery attempt that turned fatal.
Investigators later arrested several people in connection with the killing. A man identified only as Marshall pleaded guilty to murder in June 2015, a plea that avoided the death penalty. Police also charged a total of six suspects in the robbery and shooting; among them was 25-year-old Michael Ferguson, arrested on misdemeanor warrants and charged as an accessory after the fact.
Tributes from fellow officers and agencies noted Nettleton’s service as a Marine veteran and as a police officer. Who in the community might have additional information about that night or the people involved?
