Fabian Corral, 54, was found dead the morning of October 26, 2014, behind the 4H Building in Dodge City, Kansas. Officers from the Dodge City Police Department, the Ford County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the 900 block of W. Park at about 9:30 a.m. The death was investigated as a homicide; an autopsy found Corral died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified a suspect and issued an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Alejandro Ocon-Meraz on a charge of first-degree murder, with bond set at $500,000. Ocon-Meraz was described as 5 feet 8 inches with brown hair and brown eyes, notable tattoos including a scorpion on his neck and praying hands on his left upper arm, and possibly using the alias Jose Medina-Martinez. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation joined the local inquiry and at one point searched a pond on Dodge City’s north side for evidence. As of early December 2014, Ocon-Meraz remained at large.
If anyone witnessed activity near the 4H Building or has information about Ocon-Meraz’s whereabouts in late October 2014, please share what is known.
