Taylor Thomas was 20 when he was shot and killed during a home invasion at his Pittsburg, Kansas residence in the early morning hours of October 9, 2014. A junior at Pittsburg State University studying Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minor in Mathematics, Thomas was a graduate of St. Mary’s Colgan High School and an Eagle Scout, and his death deeply affected the university community.

The intruders targeted Thomas’s roommate, reportedly intending to steal money and drugs; the roommate escaped, but Thomas was shot during the confrontation. Investigations led to multiple arrests and convictions. Bryan Bridges pleaded no contest to first-degree murder, with other charges dropped in that plea. Tyler Smith received a prison term for planning the robbery despite not taking part in the break-in; Corbin Spragg accepted a plea deal, and Darius Rainey and Juan Salas-Rueda were also charged in connection with the killing.

Does anyone have information about that night or knew Taylor and can share details that might shed more light on what happened?
