Palagor Obang Jobi was 23 when he was killed in the early morning hours of September 22, 2013, in the parking lot of Nina’s Grill in Burnsville, Minnesota. What began as a conversation between Jobi and a woman escalated after the woman’s boyfriend, identified as Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson (also known as Anthony Lee Nelson), confronted Jobi. Witnesses said a physical fight followed, both men went to the ground, and Nelson produced a handgun and fired multiple shots. Jobi was struck eight times and died at the scene.

Nelson fled with two women; he was arrested two days later while trying to leave a townhome complex in Rosemount. One of the women, Ashley Marie Conrade, was Nelson’s girlfriend and was later charged with aiding an offender for helping him evade arrest. The other woman from that night, 20-year-old Anarae Schunk, was reported missing and her body was later found, with Nelson implicated in her death as well. A Dakota County grand jury indicted Nelson on first- and second-degree murder charges in Jobi’s killing; after a week-long trial, a jury found him guilty of first-degree premeditated murder and he was sentenced to life without parole. Conrade later pleaded guilty to aiding an offender in connection with Jobi’s death.

Does anyone have information about Jobi’s last hours or witnessed the confrontation in the Nina’s Grill parking lot?
