William L. Edwards, 34, was killed by gunfire in Lexington, Kentucky, in the pre-dawn hours of November 12, 2022. Police responded about 2:03 a.m. to the 300 block of Darby Creek Road after gunfire was reported and found Edwards in the street with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and pronounced dead at 2:49 a.m. The Fayette County coroner ruled the death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators say the shooter fled before officers arrived and there were no immediate leads. As of late 2022 the case remained unsolved with no arrests and no publicly identified suspects. Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department to help bring answers to Edwards’ family and friends.
