Brandon Starr, 31, was shot and killed in Lexington, Kentucky, on the night of February 19, 2022. Police found him with a gunshot wound in a residential area on Liberty Road at about 10:30 p.m.; the Fayette County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, the city’s fifth homicide that year.
Originally from Arkansas, Starr had moved to Kentucky. He was a father of three and worked in construction and at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, where he was employee of the month in 2019. Family described him as a loving, God-fearing man who had been focused on returning home to be with his children in the days before his death.
Lexington police are treating the death as a homicide and say all parties involved have been identified, but the investigation is ongoing. Authorities asked the public to check home surveillance and to submit anonymous tips. Does anyone in Lexington along Liberty Road have footage or information that could help clarify what happened that night?
