Adrian Ace Acree, 23, was found in the roadway on Jones Street near the intersection of Sharpe Street in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, in the early morning hours of October 26, 2021, with multiple gunshot wounds. Police had responded to a call about a man who had been assaulted around 1:00 a.m. The victim was described as Black / African American and had attended Christian County High School and Western Kentucky University.
Authorities identified three suspects and say the killing was allegedly planned to lure Acree to his death after he accused Cortez Hairston Jr. of providing information to police in a prior drug arrest. Prosecutors allege Hairston shot Acree after Jaila Sherrod drove him to the location; Dekorian Daniel is also accused of taking part in the plan. Court action followed: Sherrod pleaded guilty to facilitation of murder and tampering with physical evidence and was sentenced to 10 years, Daniel later pleaded guilty to facilitation to murder and complicity to tampering and received 10 years, and Hairston was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 30 years.
Did anyone who knew Adrian notice changes in his circle or the people named in the case before October 26, 2021?
