On the morning of August 7, 2021, gunfire in a Hopkinsville, Kentucky, home on Peach Street left 21-year-old George Gomez and 25-year-old Kierra Wallace dead. A neighbor heard the shots before 8:00 a.m., found a door open at the residence and saw a person leaving in a vehicle, then called 9-1-1, prompting a double homicide investigation.

Investigators identified and located a person of interest, Anthony Gaines, who was arrested in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Gaines was initially wanted on outstanding warrants for wanton endangerment, theft and failure to appear, but was later charged in this case with two counts of murder and a series of related offenses: first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He pleaded not guilty.

Pretrial disputes over evidence sharing and negotiations took place; a plea offer was made and rejected. With the plea rejected, the prosecution intends to go to trial and the death penalty remains a possibility; a trial date was set for July 14, 2025. Does anyone have information about George Gomez, his movements that morning, or the Peach Street neighborhood around August 7, 2021?
