On the night of June 3, 2021, officers from the Bowling Green Police Department found 27-year-old Gregorio Alberto Jimenez Carbajal, a Hispanic man originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, deceased in the yard of a home on the 700 block of Glen Lily Road. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Traffic in the area was briefly interrupted between 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., providing a window investigators used to focus the timeline. His body was sent to Louisville for an autopsy.
Detectives developed a lead that Jimenez Carbajal had visited a Collegeview Drive residence the night before, reportedly intending to fight a resident. A black Chevrolet Suburban registered to Jayro Pineda was located at that home. The ex-wife of Eder Exequiel Martinez-Pineda contacted police saying Martinez-Pineda had confessed to the shooting; she later helped by making a recorded call in which he discussed giving the gun used in the killing to his brother and described confronting Jimenez Carbajal during an altercation and shooting him multiple times. Martinez-Pineda was arrested five days after the shooting in Tompkinsville and ultimately pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence, receiving a 20-year prison sentence; Jayro Pineda pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence.
Are there witnesses or surveillance footage from the Glen Lily Road or Collegeview Drive areas that could fill remaining gaps in the timeline?
