Madison J. Klups, 24, of Springboro, Ohio, was shot to death on May 28, 2021, in DeMossville, Kentucky. She and 28-year-old Dillon Carpenter were found on Straub Lane, both fatally shot at close range. The Kentucky State Police initially had few leads in the double homicide.
Investigators later identified Jacob Christopher Roberts as the primary suspect. After the killings Roberts was involved in a confrontation with police in which he was shot multiple times before being taken into custody; he had also pointed a firearm at a Boone County deputy and fired at officers during a later pursuit. A pendleton County grand jury indicted him on June 25, 2021, on two counts of murder plus robbery, burglary and multiple theft and firearm charges. Prosecutors said Roberts entered Carpenter’s home under the pretext of needing to use a telephone, then shot Carpenter and Klups multiple times and stole items, disposing of the murder weapon in the Ohio River.
Roberts later pleaded guilty to the charges and the court accepted a recommendation for life in prison without parole. Does anyone have information about Madison’s movements or who she was with on May 28, 2021?
