Cameron Michael Phillips was 25 when his remains were found on August 6, 2020, in a wooded area beside a cemetery on Old Rocky Point Road near Cadiz, Kentucky. Initial investigators could not identify him and released photos of his clothing and jewelry — including a blue Reebok t-shirt, black AND1 shoes, and two bracelets — to generate leads.
Police identified a suspect, 31-year-old Montie E. Streeval of Cadiz, and arrested him on August 10, 2020. Streeval was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; bond was set at $1 million. A preliminary autopsy determined Phillips died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Streeval allegedly admitted to driving Phillips to Trigg County for a purported drug transaction but did not confess to the killing.
Cameron lived in Guthrie, Kentucky, and was a graduate of Todd County Central High School. He is survived by his parents, a daughter, siblings, and grandparents. Does anyone who knew Cameron or was in the Cadiz area that week have information that could help this case?
