On April 21, 2020, 16-year-old Ladonya Lynnshaun Bennett was shot in the area of Woodhill Drive and Hedgewood Court in Lexington, Kentucky. Emergency crews answered a shots-fired call just before 3 p.m.; Bennett was found with a single gunshot wound, taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, and pronounced dead at 4:56 p.m.
Police say Bennett had been with a group of other teenagers when the shooting occurred and that there was no reported dispute among those present. Within a day, Lexington officers arrested a 16-year-old who was charged with reckless homicide, possession of a handgun by a minor, and tampering with evidence. Three other teens from the group were charged with handgun possession by a minor and evidence tampering; their names have not been released because they are juveniles.
Did anyone in the Woodhill Drive or Hedgewood Court area see what happened that afternoon or have information about the group involved?
