Zendall Noble Sr was 58 when he was killed on June 11, 2019, during a law enforcement operation in Perry County near Hazard, Kentucky. Known to some as Pie Daddy, he was a retired semi-truck driver for Eldorado Chemical Company and is described as a father and grandfather who was outgoing, funny and kind-hearted.

Kentucky State Police officers were serving a search warrant reportedly connected to suspected drug activity at a neighboring home when people went into Noble’s house. After negotiations, Noble emerged from his residence armed with a gun. Police say officers ordered him to drop the weapon and that, when he refused, an exchange of gunfire occurred. Trooper Brad Martin fired the shot that fatally wounded Noble and suffered a gunshot wound to the leg; Martin was placed on administrative leave while the investigation continued. No other arrests or suspects have been reported in connection with the death. His funeral was held at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel and he was buried at Miller Cemetery in Lost Creek.

What new information, if any, does anyone in the Hazard area recall about the day of June 11, 2019?
